LOCAL cinema operators, Palace Amusement Company, is living up to its commitment to keep Jamaicans in the vanguard of the international movie industry.

With this in mind, the company’s circuit of cinemas loated in the Corporate Area, Mandeville and Montego Bay will be buzzing with films of the Yuletide season.

Among this seasons hot picks are Django Unchained directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L Jackson.

If laughter is your medicine, then the comedy Parental Guidance is perhaps your pick. This stars funny man Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marisa Tomei, and Tom Everett Scott.

The US premiere of Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise was delayed due to the shootings at a Connecticut Elementary School. The Jamaica audience is able to see this movie ahead of their United Kingdom counterparts as the film opens in that market on Boxing Day.

These new releases will join held-over flicks including Hobbit, Wreck It Ralph, and the latest Bond film — Skyfall.

The string of blockbusters continues straight into the new year. Among the flicks waiting in the wings is the comedy Playing for Keeps. This film stars Gerard Butler with Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Judy Greer, and Dennis Quaid supporting.
