Brown’s Town end Bull Bay’s unbeaten ML run
BROWN’S Town ended Bull Bay’s unbeaten run in the Hi-lyte/KSAFA Major League yesterday after drubbing the Zone B leaders, 5-1, in their cross-zone match at Vauxhall High School.
The win also lifted Brown’s Town to the top of Zone A, after Real Mona lost, 2-0, to Maxfield at Buttercup Park.
In other results, Constant Spring turned back Duhaney Park, 2-1; Meadforest edged Pembroke Hall, 1-0; New Kingston and Cooreville ended 0-0, while Molynes stopped Swallowfield, 4-0.
But despite the defeat, Bull Bay remained atop Zone B on 15 points, two more than Maxfield, who stopped the high-flying Real Mona.
At Vauxhall, the hosts found themselves leading at the half after goals from Junior Anderson and Gerald Hibbert put them up 2-1. However, Horatio Taffe pulled one back for the visitors.
After the interval, Ricardo Clarke hit a brace as Brown’s Town went 4-1 up before a late goal sealed the win for the home team.
Meanwhile, New Kingston climbed to third in Zone B with eight points, one ahead of Duhaney Park, who were losing their second straight match.
Meadforest registered their first win of the season with their victory against Pembroke Hall, while Swallowfield stayed pointless at the bottom of the group after their 4-0 mauling by Molynes.
In Zone A, Brown’s Town are the new leaders following Real Mona’s defeat.
Keano Simpson and Andrew Hamilton got the goals for Maxfield in their surprise win over the front-runners. Mona are now second with 12 points, one adrift of Brown’s Town.
Molynes’ victory kept them third with 10 points, one more than Constant Spring, who also stayed fourth with nine points.
Cooreville are second-from-bottom with seven points, with Pembroke Hall last on two points.
