Police recover firearms in Stony Hill, St Johns Road
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police recovered two illegal firearms yesterday one in upper St Andrew the other in St Catherine.
In St Andrew a Taurus PT 99 AF pistol along with fifteen 9mm rounds were seized in Mount Salus, Stony Hill.
Reports from the Stony Hill Police are that about 4:15 pm a team of police officers was on operation in the Mount Salus community when a black plastic bag containing the firearm, with the serial number erased, and the ammunition were found in an open lot. No one was arrested in connection with the find.
Meanwhile one .38 Smith and Wesson pistol along with three .38 cartridges were seized on St Johns Road, Spanish Town in St. Catherine.
The Spanish Town Police report that about 10:00am a patrol was in progress along St Johns Road when the police observed three men acting suspiciously. The men were searched and the weapon loaded with the ammunition was found in the possession of one.
The man was taken into custody in relation to the find. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
