Boys’ Club break winless spell
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Montego Bay Boys’ Club scored their first win after three tries, holding off Revelation FC 3-2 in their St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League first-round game at the UDC field on Tuesday.
After a loss and a draw, Boys’ Club scored three times in the first half before holding off a late-charging Revelation who have now lost their first two games.
In another game at Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College, Reggae Youths were held 0-0 by Rosemount Gardens, the second-straight game in the Senior League that Reggae Youths were being held scoreless after winning their opening game 1-0 over Little Miami.
A third game, Violet Kickers against Melbourne Strikers, was not played and is tentatively set for tomorrow at Jarrett Park as part of a triple-header.
At the UDC field on Tuesday, Leroy Christie in the 20th, Richard Harriot a minute later and Lovel Jonas in the 42nd minute gave Boys’ Club a 3-0 half-time lead.
Revelation FC stormed back in the second half and scored twice in a nine-minute span late in the game, Christopher Brown in the 78th minute and Sabastian Robinson in the 87th minute to give them hope of at least a point.
Boys’ Club were able to hold on to snatch the win and moved one place into third place in Zone B behind leaders Montego Bay United on six points from two games and Reggae Youths who are on five from three games.
