Girl power rules
HIGH-PERFORMANCE machines aren’t just toys for young men, as Tina-Gaye McFarlane and her 2007 Mazda RX8 proved at Wednesday’s Heelz & Wheelz Super Street Car competition.
“Car shows are for sexy cars, and my car is sexy,” she proudly told Auto, from the seat of her pride and joy.
She purchased the car last July because of her profession as a medical rep, which means she has to spend a lot of time on the road. Tina said she was swayed by the RX8’s curvy good looks, but was blown away by its performance and easy manoeuvrability — a result of the car’s Tiptronic transmission.
“It’s amazing on the road,” she gushed.
Currently, the car remains just as she bought it, with flashy chrome rims, but that could change after the show.
“I really came to look at all the other cars to get some ideas where to go.”
The event has set her on the right path with a few modifications to come down the line, as there were a few other RX8s on show.
“Not loving the chrome. Going to get some nice large black rims, side skirts, and a front lip.”
Clearly the modification bug isn’t gender-specific.
