Alvin Day hosts free empowerment conference
Jamaican-born author and international empowerment coach Alvin Day, best known for his bestselling book “If Caterpillars Can Fly ~ So Can I”, will be presenting the second in a series of free island wide Empowerment Conferences on Sunday, March 17 at the Jamaica College Auditorium.
The connference, scheduled to start at 3pm, is part of a plan by the author to take the transformational message to as many Jamaicans as possible, before heading to China and parts of the United States with the series.
“I owe my life to Jamaica and I believe Jamaicans are blessed with great capabilities, but are under economic and social pressures – pressures that are holding them back from achieving their potential,” said Day.
“So, I want to use my Empowerment Conference to plant a seed of hope and to open the minds of Jamaicans to the realization that they have the power to chart their future, no matter what is taking place around them,” he added.
In addition, the international empowerment coach — who has trained employees of leading international organizations such as Procter & Gamble; Johnson & Johnson; Gillette; Bristol-Myers Squibb; Nestle; Kodak; Heinz and Sainsbury-UK — noted that without concerns about price, any Jamaican wishing to rediscover personal power and strategies for winning, can hear the message on Sunday.
The event is sponsored by Stewarts Automotive group; Jamaica Broilers Group; Centralised Strategic Services Limited; Credit Unions of Jamaica; Coca Cola, Wata; Kingston Bookshop; RJR Communications Group; Food Delight; Love TV and Sure Time Emergency Medical Service.
In his 10 years at Procter & Gamble, Day rose to become number one in a national sales competition. He led Campbell Soup to increase sales by US$25 million and helped Bristol-Myers Squibb gain US$1.5 million extra sales in a two-day period, said a press release.
Today, he coaches executives in multi-national corporations around the world, teaching them transformational leadership that translates into improved revenues and profits.
