We’re used to seeing her in elaborate avant-garde type outfits featuring a kaleidoscope of colours, mixed textures and, lest we forget, the extravagant hair and make-up. In her cover photo shoot for ELLE magazine’s March issue, however, Nicki Minaj was very much dressed down in full black, and it took a bit of time for her to adjust to the ‘barely there’ look…
On her dramatic make-under for her ELLE photo shoot: “When I saw myself with barely any make-up on, it was such a… like, I’m so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it’s hard. I feel that it’s become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes — you know, nothing — I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes.”
