Excitement high as ATL Automotive opens historic 36-hour sale
A DAY before its historic 36-hour sale, ATL Automotive was bracing for a ‘massive traffic’ of takers for deals at its Kingston and Montego Bay branches.
The sale is expected to start at 8:00 am today and go straight through the night, until tomorrow at 8:00 pm.
Sloane Jackson, market analyst at ATL Automotive, said the response so far has been encouraging.
“We’ve been getting calls non-stop and we started to get enquiries about the Honda brands days ago,” Jackson told the Jamaica Observer yesterday.
He said visits to ATL’s new state-of-art showroom on Oxford Road, Kingston, have increased ahead of the sale.
“Over 30 persons showed up at the Audi terminal today alone. So we expect more persons tomorrow [today],” he said.
The market analyst said that showroom usually sees an average of five persons daily.
Jackson said his company’s target is to sell more than 350 units from the ATL showrooms by end of May 2013.
According to Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals/ATL Group, the innovative 36-hour non-stop sale strategy was geared towards getting units out of the showrooms and into the hands of appreciative customers.
“These are the best deals in town. Customers will receive the most aggressive discounts ever offered by the car industry in Jamaica,” Stewart said.
Stewart, son of hotel mogul Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, said persons who have to work late should take advantage of the ‘new’ office hours.
“We don’t want anyone to miss this opportunity to buy their dream car,” he said.
The CEO of the Sandals/ATL Group, which includes the Observer, said the Jamaican community stood to benefit from these deals.
“We believe in our products and these are deals that no one should pass up,” he said.
ATL Automotive is the authorised distributor of Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar and Honda brands.
In reiterating his company’s commitment to these brands, he said: “These are the brands of today and the future. So it is an understatement to say that we are proud to represent them.”
Last month, Stewart officially opened two state-of-the-art showrooms in the city’s financial district in New Kingston.
The buildings — an Audi terminal and a VW showroom — are valued at US$13.5 million and are the single largest investment in Jamaica’s automotive industry.
Three years ago, a US$4.25-million ultra-modern Autohaus in Montego Bay, St James was opened — the only full sales and service facility in western Jamaica and a first of its kind in the tourist resort capital.
