National Bakery sizzle in Business House domino
DEFENDING champions National Baking Company made it two wins from as many starts at the completion of the second round of matches in the 2013 Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League last Friday.
National Baking Company scored an 11-point victory over (139-128) Jamaica Public Service (JPS) at home at 43 Half-Way-Tree Road.
In other Division One Zone A action, Social Development Commission whipped visiting Jamaica Gleaner Company 140-98, and Wray and Nephew, who suffered at the hands of the defending champions the previous week, edged hosts University of the West Indies 131-130 in a thriller, at UWI Domino Club, UWI Students Union, Mona.
In Zone B, Seprod outscored Kingston Wharves 120-106 at King Port Building, 3rd Street Newport West; Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) suffered a 15-point (110-125) loss at home to Berger Paints Jamaica Limited, and Jamaica Brandy defeated hosts Courts Sports Club 143-130.
In Division Two, hosts Bank of Jamaica beat Carib Cement Company 142-124, and Ministry of Finance routed Nutrition Products 142-101 in Zone A action.
In Zone B play, National Housing Trust scored their second win from as many games when they easily defeated First Heritage Cooperative Credit Union 145-122 at 8-10 Eureka Road, and Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) invaded the Jamaica Observer and came away 136-126 winners, after trailing by seven points at the interval.
In cross-zone play, Cari-Med from Zone B defeated Kirk Distributors Limited 149-139 at 216 Marcus Garvey Drive.
The competition continues tomorrow with another full slate of matches in both divisions. In Division One Zone A play, Jamaica Gleaner Company host the defending champions; Wray and Nephew welcome Social Development Commission; and JPS visit UWI Domino Club.
In Zone B, Seprod entertain Berger Paints Jamaica Limited; Jamaica Brandy travel to JUTC, and Courts hosts Kingston Wharves.
Division Two Zone A games are Ministry of Finance hosting BOJ, and Kirk Distributors welcoming Nutrition Products Limited, while in Zone B, NHT entertain Jamaica Observer, and Cari-Med welcome STATIN. The cross-zone game will see Caribbean Cement Company hosting First Heritage CCU.
