Over 40 of Jamaica’s top golfers have been invited to participate in the National Trials, which will take place at the Caymanas Golf & Country Club from June 6-9, 2013.

A new feature for 2013 is the Elite Squad — comprising Jamaica’s crème de la crème — that has been in training since the beginning of the tournament year, which started in April.

Among the invitees to the Trials are past Hoerman Cup team members, including Ian Facey, Paul Thompson, and Jonathan Newnham. Seasoned competitors include Sean Morris, Keith Stein, JGA President Wayne Chai Chong, Rory Jardine, Dennis Atkinson, Fred Sutherland and Jodi Munn-Barrow and Rochell Prince.

Newcomers include Lindell Bartley, Christopher Clarke, Geoffrey Chong and Easton Williams. Junior golfers slated to compete are Zandre Roye, Tiana Cruz, Kei Harris and Sherisse Walker.

This year’s Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships will take place in early August at the Mahogany Run Golf Club in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

The members of the Elite Squad are expected to showcase their skill and talent in the top-billed 54-hole Seafreight National Amateur Golf Championships, which will take place over the Labour Day weekend.
