Children’s gospel final on Sunday
GRACE Tropical Rhythms Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song competition will be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew on Sunday.
Hosted by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), the Child Month event’s theme is Children of the Rock. The show begins at 6:30 p.m.
Leighton Jones, JCDC gospel and church services coordinator, said some of the island’s most talented children will be showcasing their natural gift of song.
“The finals promise to be an enjoyable evening and we invite everyone to come out as our Children of the Rock celebrate Child’s Month by giving praises to their Heavenly Father,” he said.
The finals will feature over 200 children from schools, churches and other groups from across the island between the ages of 6-15 years. The winners will receive cash awards, trophies and gift packages.
Also scheduled to perform are Father Ho Lung & Friends Junior Department with special appearances by Alex Anderson and Remone Watson, 2012 Children’s Gospel Solo winners. The Master of Ceremony will be Tony Young.
