Has Kate Upton forgiven Victoria’s Secret for those ‘too obvious’ comments?
Kate Upton appears to be modelling for Victoria’s Secret, just over a year after the casting director for the lingerie giant’s catwalk shows said she “would never use her.” In an image obtained by Buzzfeed of the back of the newest Victoria’s Secret catalogue, the model, 20, is seen wearing a black Body by Victoria bra. It comes as some surprise to see her posing for the brand, given that she was the subject of some scathing comments from its model booker, Sophia Neophitou, in a New York Times interview early last year. Ms Neophitou told the paper that she would never book Miss Upton for the Victoria’s Secret catwalk show. “She is too obvious. She’s like a page three girl,” she said. “She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and the kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”
In just under 18 months, Upton has appeared on three Vogue covers, fronted the inaugural issue of CR Fashion Book, and posed in photo shoots for V Magazine, Terry Richardson and Harper’s Bazaar.

Imperfections are beautiful
She is the highest-paid model in the world and the long-legged beauty that Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell credit as the only true remaining “supermodel”. As a businesswoman, actress and world-famous Victoria’s Secret “Angel” with total earnings over the last 10 years passing the $250-million mark, Gisele Bündchen knows a thing or two about the modelling world. And now, she is using her powerful status to speak out about the use of photoshopping in advertising campaigns. The 32-year-old told Fashionista that she wants more fashion photographers to adopt a more natural look when shooting. She is urging them to embrace imperfections and steer clear of the over-retouching that is currently sweeping the industry.

Lily Cole to reveal the ugly truth behind luxury beauty
Sharks are already in demand for their fins, and now it has been revealed that their livers are being used to make luxury face cream. Model and animal rights campaigner Lily Cole is to speak out against the use of squalene, an oil extracted from the livers of endangered sharks. As one of Britain’s most successful models, Cole has calibre when it comes to the world of fashion and beauty. She is known for using her fame to promote environmental causes, and this latest appeal hits close to home.
She will expose one of the beauty trade’s murkier secrets — its reliance on killing sharks to obtain a key cosmetics ingredient.
Cole will be joined on stage by Alannah Weston, creative director of the department store Selfridges, which will announce it is clearing its shelves of all products containing squalene derived from sharks.
