Digicel achieves Cisco Gold certification in the Caribbean, Panama and El Salvador

TELECOMS giant Digicel announced this week that it has received Cisco Gold Certification, meeting rigorous standards set by the technology company in networking competency, service, support and customer satisfaction.

“We are delighted about this CISCO Gold Certification, which is a critical part of our strategy to deliver complex solutions to our Jamaican corporate clients,” Ative Ennis, head of enterprise solutions, Digicel Business said in a press release.

“This will greatly assist our customers to achieve their strategic imperatives and help Jamaica in our plight to becoming a knowledge-based economy,” Ennis added.

As a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, Digicel has met the requirements for attaining the broadest range of expertise across multiple technologies by achieving Cisco-advanced specializations in unified communications, routing and switching, security, and wireless LAN. In addition, Digicel has integrated Cisco Life cycle Services into its offerings and is required to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Cisco Gold Certification provides Digicel with access to comprehensive sales, technical, and life cycle services training and support available from Cisco.

“This achievement puts us in the top one per cent of CISCO Partners Globally of which there are approximately 64,000 worldwide — so this is indeed a great accomplishment for Digicel Business,” Ennis said.

Edison Peres, senior vice president of worldwide channels at Cisco, said the firm is committed to providing the tools, training and programmes that facilitate partner growth, differentiation and profitability. He lauded Digicel for investing in technology to better serve its customers.

“With specialisations in unified communications, routing and switching, security, and wireless LAN, Digicel has made an investment in developing the capability to deliver the integrated and customised technology solutions that today’s customers demand,” he noted.
