Knights score revenge win over Flames
MONTEGO BAY, St James — MBCC Knights scored a measure of revenge over Lucea Flames beating them by 10 points (66-56) in their third round Flow National Basketball League-West game at the Montego Bay Cricket Club on Wednesday.
Lucea Flames had won their previous two games between the teams 68-63 and 78-60 and are three points ahead of Knights 18-15, both behind leaders Granville Jaguars on 19 points, while two-time defending champions Catherine Hall All-Stars and Hoopers are both on 16 points. Railway Lane Tigers are on 12 points after losing all games played so far.
Despite a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds from Craig Dorman, Knights came back from a firstquarter deficit to beat the Lucea team.
Flames led 12-9 after the first quarter, but Knights came back with a big second quarter to take over the lead 30-25 at half time and extended their lead at the end of the third quarter to 46-34.
Anthoniel Watson scored 16 points and had 17 rebounds and had three blocked shots for MBCC Knights, while Jamoi Richards scored 11 points and had 10 steals, four rebounds and four assists.
Oshando Greenfield also had a double-double 14 points and 14 rebounds for Lucea.
In another game Wednesday, Granville trampled over Tigers 85-66 with Leroy Lawrence who is having an MVP-like season, leading the way with 27 points and 15 rebounds while Levar Rose scored 16 points and six assists.
Damian Smith scored 22 points and had nine rebounds to lead Railway while Richard Harriot scored 13 points.
