Kartel’s second murder trial pushed back again
THE trial of entertainer Adidjah ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer and two co-accused for the murder of a Portmore, St Catherine resident in 2011 was Monday postponed in the Home Circuit Court until July 8.
The trial was put off because of an ongoing case in the courtroom in which it was called up.
Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson are charged along with Palmer for the murder of Barrington ‘Bossie’ Bryan, who was shot dead while standing among a group of persons in Gregory Park, St Catherine in July 2011.
A bail application was made on McDonald’s behalf but the judge did not make a ruling.
Palmer is represented by Tom Tavares-Finson and Tamika Harris appears for Thompson.
The entertainer’s other murder case was on a previous occasion set for November 18. In that case, he’s charged jointly with Andre St John, Kahira Jones, Shane Williams, Calvin Haye, and fellow entertainer Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell for the murder, on August 16, 2011, of Clive Williams in Havendale St Andrew. Williams was reportedly beaten to death over the disappearance of an illegal firearm. His body has not been found.
