Bunkers Hill and Masters to battle in Summer League
BUNKERS HILL, Trelawny
Bunkers Hill will meet Masters at the Unity Primary School grounds on Sunday, in the finals of the inaugural Bunkers Hill Summer League.
In the semi-finals played last week, Bunkers Hill edged Cross Roads 2-1 in extra-time, while Masters eked out a 4- 3 win over Top Road.
Eight teams entered the competition which began on June 30.
The league is sponsored by the overseas-based Clancy Strickland and Strickland Foundation.
According to League coordinator Dale Walker, the winning team on Sunday will walk away with $25,000 and a trophy.
He said the competition was initiated in a bid to foster unity in the Bunkers Hill community.
“So far we are very pleased with the outcome. The competition has been incident -free, the discipline has been good… it’s a thing that we put on to unite the community and we have reached our goal,” Walker told the Observer West.
