Has Miley gone too far?
She loves to shock, but even hardcore Miley Cyrus fans may have thought her performance at the MTV VMAs was too much.
The 20-year-old singer was joined by singer Robin Thicke on stage for a rendition of his hit single Blurred Lines and wasted no time stripping down to a tiny gold bikini.
Miley then proceeded to shake her pert derrière in the 36-year-old star’s face, and draped herself all over him during the family-friendly show.
Clearly enjoying herself, Miley’s couldn’t help her signature move of sticking out her tongue as she writhed and gyrated around the married father-of-one, who looked dapper in a black and white striped suit.
Rapper 2Chainz and hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar may have been disappointed not to have received the same treatment when they also joined the pair on stage for Give It 2 U.
Before her duet with Robin, Miley hit the stage dressed in a teddy bear-inspired strapless leotard to sing We Can’t Stop.
She was joined by a host of backing dancers wearing giant teddy bear costumes, giving the impression the toys had come to life to dance with her.

Pushing the boundaries!
Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus play dress-up as they battle to be the most outrageous on the MTV VMAs red carpet
They are three of the biggest female pop stars in the world, so it’s no surprise that Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus were determined to make their own individual marks in the fashion stakes at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
And the trio chose three very different ensembles at the event, with Gaga opting for a surprisingly non-eccentric PVC evening gown.
However, the 27-year-old singer did show off copious amounts of cleavage as she arrived at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, before opening the show with a performance of her latest single Applause.
Katy Perry, meanwhile, opted for a leopard print slinky dress complete with gold dragonfly embellishments and thigh-high slit.
The star teamed her distinctive Emanuel Ungaro dress with strappy black and gold sandals and a high ponytail as she stepped out at the annual event.
The 28-year-old singer’s outfit was typically fitting ahead of the first live performance of her new single Roar at the end of the show, which she performed under the Brooklyn Bridge.
The star also bared her teeth in a jewelled grill while posing for photographers.
‘It’s about Brooklyn. It’s about keeping it real in Brooklyn,’ Katy said on the red carpet about her performance.
Roar is Katy’s first single from her forthcoming third studio album Prism, and has famously outsold Lady Gaga’s single Applause.
Miley Cyrus was also a big draw on the carpet and wowed fans by busting out a few moves on her way into the show.
The 20-year-old We Can’t Stop singer sported a pair of high-waisted black leggings embellished with colourful beading and a cropped top showing off her toned stomach.

Peek-a-boo!
Selena Gomez stuns in daring dress with sheer bustier and thigh-high split at MTV VMAs
Red carpet fashion can be tricky, with most starlets choosing sex over style.
But Selena Gomez can do both, as she proved with the daring dress she wore to sashay down the red carpet at the MTV VMAs in New York on Sunday evening.
The 21-year-old looked ravishing in a dark blue Atelier Versace gown, which was – barely – held together with silver clasps.
Continuing the theme, even her shoes left little to the imagination – the upper being see-through, with just a black triangle on the toe.
The former Disney star complemented her dress perfectly with a slick of dark red lipstick and matching nails.
Long emerald-green earrings were the only jewellery the Wizards of Waverly Place actress chose to accessorise with.
Not wanting to overshadow the dress, she wore her hair minimally styled in a straight waterfall over one shoulder.
Selena appeared to have taken inspiration from another famous Versace dress – the famous ‘safety pin’ dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley to the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral.
