Proven Wealth donates to St James Police Civic Committee ball
MONTEGO BAY, St James — THE St James Police Civic Committee (PCC) received a major boost last week, when Proven Wealth presented a cheque for $600,000 to the group to assist in the staging of the PCC’s third annual Police Ball, scheduled for the Montego Bay Convention Centre on October 26.
Allison Callam, Proven Wealth’s portfolio advisor, in making the donation to the chairman of the PCC’s Police Ball Committee and Chairman of the PCC, Dr Lee Bailey, noted that the committee has over the years made tremendous strides in fostering the relationship between the police and civilians.
This she said, has inspired her company to be the title sponsor for the event for two consecutive years.
“As a wealth management company our commitment is not only to be the standard of success for the Jamaican financial sector, we also aim to provide financial support in creating the environment that fosters the growth and development of the communities that we live in,” Callam explained.
She noted that the PCC has improved the morale of the police in the parish of St James by renovating a number of police stations across the parish, and has also made citizens more aware of their rights.
“Through all the committee’s activities and efforts they have made an invaluable contribution to the communities where our families and loved ones reside,” she stressed.
Callam said her company’s sponsorship of the ball is “just a small contribution in comparison to the big commitment the St James Police Civic Committee has made to make our communities a better place to do business and to build”.
The St James Police Civic Committee was established just three years ago in an effort to enhance the relationship between members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and citizens, as well as to address the welfare needs of the lawmen in the parish.
