Bike Fest for Sunday
THE second staging of Bike Fest: The Revenge is scheduled for the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston, on Sunday.
The action revs off at 10 am.
Organiser Hemsley Berry is promising a fun-filled family affair with both two-wheel and four-wheel action.
“The aim of the event is to allow local bikers a safe area to parade their skills and talents and be judged on them,” he said.
“You’ll find the riders doing unbelievable stunts.”
The organiser said given last year’s turnout, he was expecting a bumper crowd for Sunday’s staging.
He said there was a widening of the categories for the participants. There will also be a category for super bikes as well as one for the messenger-type ones.
“This year, we are giving out 11 trophies compared to last year’s seven. So, expect the entrants to try take home the majority,” he said.
Last year, Montego Bay-based bikers took six of seven trophies and Berry expects them to try and increase their trophy haulage.
“The West will be represented by Shayan ‘Shagga’ Ferguson, Romond Gichie, Elvis ‘Mad Dog’ Stewart and the crew,” he said.
He said the The St Ann-based Untouchable Riders with Halquin ‘Pugu’ Rodney as well as Kingston-based Crazy Bikerz with Marlon ‘Crazy Cutter’ Fletcher will be present.
The four-wheel fans are not to be left out.
“Some of Jamaica’s top drivers will be on exhibition,” he said.
For kids, there will be bounce-abouts, face painting, balloon twisting, bumper cars, mechanical bull, trackless trains and go-kart rides.
“There will something for everyone, so bring the whole family out,” he added.
