Denmark 2 Italy 2: Arsenal misfit Bendtner scores twice on return from drink driving ban… but gets booked for taking his shirt off celebrating
Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner scored twice on his return to the Danish national team after a six-month ban for drink driving but former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani netted in injury-time to leave the host’s hopes of a play-off spot in doubt.
Southampton forward Daniel Osvaldo gave the already-qualified visitors a first-half lead, only for Bendtner to score two headers past Gianluigi Buffon to put his country in control.
Aquilani, on as a second-half substitute, then popped up late on to divert Osvaldo’s effort on goal into the net and give Italy a share of the points.
