New Flow from Bahamian team
BAHAMIAN impresario Nigel Angus and his production partner Jamel Raines have increased their profile in the dancehall/reggae market with the company, Palm Tree Flow Records.
Angus, who lived in Jamaica briefly before relocating to the United States, says the New York-based entity’s objective is to move away from conventional promotions.
“We have been working on commercial music different from the ordinary Jamaican label. We produce music that can be licensed and sold commercially,” he told Splash . “Apart from music which we produce in-house, we also shoot music videos.”
Palm Tree Flow Records’ first major project was deejay Charly Blacks’ mix tape, Trelawny Citizen. Since then, Angus and his team have worked with a number of acts including Darrio, Delus, Ricky Blaze, Fahrenheit, Stacious, Dane Ray, Swiss reggae artiste Cali P, Rikroot (brother of deejay Konshens), K Starr and Munga.
Its latest productions include an album for dancer-turned-deejay John Bling and a remix by Cali P.
