Quick quarter-mile action at ‘Vernam’
A field of 63 competitors was whittled down to 14 at last Sunday’s National Drag Racing Circuit’s (NDRC) Drag Challenge #2 held at Vernamfield in Clarendon.
“One of main objectives was to rectify the issues we had from the first event. All the systems worked allowing us to finish around 5:30 pm,” Christopher Elliott, NDRC executive member told Auto.
The early cut-off time was facilitated by a near smooth running of the event, from morning qualifying to the afternoon finals.
Racing was close all day with several key match-ups decided by drivers going faster than their required bracket time. This kept the fans filled with excitement that spilled over into the grudge match session after all the elimination races were completed.
