‘Santana’ hunts a Virtuous Woman
HIS father, singer Carl Dawkins Sr, rocked the charts in the 1960s with hits such as Baby I Love You and Satisfaction. Carl Dawkins Jr has his sights on similar success as a singer/producer.
Known as ‘Santana’, Dawkins has teamed with singer Gyptian for the track Virtuous Woman which he produced.
Now in his mid-30s, the younger Dawkins has been in the music business for over a decade. He has worked with a number of artistes including Lutan Fyah and Don Yute.
He says there is no pressure being the son of a hitmaker.
“Being the son of Carl Dawkins I have a very high standard to maintain,” he noted. “With this particular track the emphasis is on the treatment of a virtuous woman desired by men for more than just the physical.”
