Reds slump to shock defeat
Jake Livermore, David Meyler and a Martin Skrtel own goal lifted Hull City Tigers to a surprise 3-1 win over Liverpool. Talismanic skipper Steven Gerrard curled in a free kick during the first half, but turned out to be a consolation. The result pushed the Tigers up the table to 10th place.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United played out an intense 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in a match both teams searched for the win. Wayne Rooney scored twice to pull the champions level after superb goals from Kyle Walker and Sandro.
Arsenal extended their lead atop the English Premier League table on Saturday with an impressive 3-0 victory at Cardiff. Aaron Ramsey was on the score sheet again as he scored twice while substitute Mathieu Flamini added another.

Barcelona lose second straight game
Barcelona slumped to their second consecutive defeat in all competitions and first in the league when they went down to Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames. Spanish Under-20 forward Iker Muniain scored the only goal of the match to keep them tied atop the table with Atletico Madrid.
There was no shortage of goals from Real Madrid this weekend despite the absence of a certain star forward, as Gareth Bale scored his first hat-trick for Los Galacticos against Real Valladolid. The game ended 4-0 in favour of Madrid. Karim Benzema also got on the score sheet, assisted by Bale.

Roma slip up again
AS Roma saw their challenge for the Scudetto stall once more after they drew 1-1 with Atalanta. Kevin Strootman tapped in a cross on the stroke of full time to ensure Roma extended their unbeaten run in the league to 14 games.
AC Milan snapped their winless streak in the Serie A with a 3-1 win over Catania on Sunday. After conceding early, Milan responded well with goals from Riccardo Montolivo, Mario Balotelli and Kaka — whose form could be catching the eyes of his national team boss.
Title holders Juventus needed a stoppage time header from Spaniard Fernando Llorente to seal a 1-0 win over Udinese.

Robben drives Bayern past Braunschweig
There was no easing up from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as they brushed aside Braunschweig 2-0. A first-half double from Arjen Robben completed the win for the Bavarians.
Borussia Dortmund battled with Mainz 04 for 70 long minutes before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent an unstoppable free kick from 25 yards into the top corner. Robert Lewandowski stepped up to the spot twice to seal victory thereafter with a 3-1 win.
