Water lock-off in sections of St James, Westmoreland
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) says that operations at the Cambridge Treatment Plant in St James will be suspended from 12 midnight on December 3, until 6:00 am Wednesday, December 4, forcing a water lock off in Westmoreland and St James communities over the period.
Areas to be affected include Bickersteth, Seven Rivers, Richmond Hill, Shortwood, Cambridge, Ducketts, Grange, Bethel Town, Argyle Mountain and Lambs River.
The lock-off is to facilitate urgent repairs to a broken eight inch transmission main at the facility and every effort will be made to complete the necessary work and restore supply to the affected areas within schedule, the NWC said.
