The JLP’s Central Executive embraced diversity
AGAINST the actively expressed wishes of JLP leader Andrew Holness, last Sunday the JLP Central Executive voted to retain Bobby Montague as party chairman and James Robertson as one of the four deputy leaders.
Montague was ‘branded’ for ouster simply because he carried out his job with professionalism and integrity. For failing to openly endorse any of the candidates in the recently held leadership election, or to state it plainly, for his non-endorsement of Holness before the election he was deemed as anti-Holness.
Even with Shahine Robinson being forced by the Holness faction to backtrack on her offer to act as Montague’s campaign manager, it couldn’t stop the thought by a significant majority of those in the Central Executive that Montague was the right man for the job.e-paper
