Books galore

Occasion was the launch of the Mobile Library Cart Programme at the Spanish Embassy on November 21. The programme is designed to bolster literacy levels among primary school students through the provision of books as supplementary reading material for schools participating in the Enrichment Programme — a joint initiative of the Digicel Foundation and the Ministry of Education. Each cart will contain 210 books. The Spanish-Jamaican Foundation will supply bilingual English-Spanish books to expose students to a second language, while the Digicel Foundation will provide the remainder of the books.
