Junior Murvin to be buried next week Sunday
THE funeral service for Murvin ‘Junior Murvin’ Smith will take place next week Sunday, December 29, at the Christ Church, East Palm Avenue, in Portland.
According to Shikisha Chang Cowan of Glory Music, who is coordinating the arrangements, there will be tributes prior to the service.
“We are still confirming the persons who will be doing them,” she said.
The service will begin at 2:00 pm.
Murvin, who made an international mark in 1976 with the hit song Police and Thieves, died on December 2 at age 67.
His son, Kevin Smith, said his father had suffered with diabetes and hypertension.
