Portmore earn three vital points
PORTMORE United defeated bottom-placed August Town 1-0 to remain undefeated in their last four Red Stripe Premier League matches at UWI Bowl yesterday.
It was a tough encounter for both parties but a third- minute penalty from Adoah Nickle taken on the second attempt separated the teams at the end and gave Portmore three valuable points to ease them upward into 10th spot from 11th.
The victory was well- earned and a step in the right direction, according to coach Calvin Lewis. “We have been picking up points, especially on the road where we have won most of our games. We just have to start winning our home games and hope at the turn of the new year things will start to work for us,” he said.
August Town’s Manager Marlon Small said nothing much is happening for us at present, as you can see we created a number chances but failed to capitalise”.
