Raymond ‘Jeep Man’ Hall of movie ‘Rockers’ is dead
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Raymond Hall, who played ‘Jeep Man’ in the 1978 movie Rockers, died December 21 at age 68.
Hall was pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital, his niece Patrice Minott told OBSERVER ONLINE.
In an interview with the Observer last July marking Rockers’ 35th anniversary, Hall said director Ted Bafaloukos and producer Patrick Hulsey asked him to appear in the low-budget film.
Though he had no acting experience, Hall took up the Americans’ offer and was one of the many familiar faces in Rockers which he says “open up the thing fi reggae.”
“Rockers was one of the greatest thing fi Jamaican music an’ we as sufferers,” he added.
Hall is survived by four children and three grandchildren.
