Brutal trio clobbers opponents in schoolgirl football league
St Jago High continued their dominance in Zone G of the ISSA/KFC/Locker-Room Sports schoolgirl football competition when they got by Penwood High 9-0, while Lennon High rolled over Glenmuir 10-0 on Thursday.
Georgia Bailey and Sydney Clarke, both scored hat-tricks in assisting St Jago to a perfect record of three wins, with Rochelle Walters scoring a brace and Muriska Richie putting the icing on the cake to end a miserable outing for Penwood.
The other game between Cumberland and St Mary’s College was not played due to the withdrawal of the latter.
Over in Zone C, Lennon High, coming off a 12-0 victory over Garvey Maceo on Tuesday, returned to toy with Glenmuir High. Lennon (seven points) lead the zone ahead of Mile Gully High (three points) and Christiana High (three points).
Excelsior High made it three-from-three as they, too, recorded a big victory by getting by Bridgeport High 7-0 in Zone F fixtures. Sashine Smith and Nicole Brodericka both scored a brace, as the Mountain View-based school continues their good run of form as they seek to defend their title.
In other Zone F games, Jonathan Grant got by Immaculate 5-1, while Tivoli High were 4-1 victors over Campion College.
Zone A games saw Westwood High and St James High playing out a goal-less game, and so too did Muschett High and Spot valley.
Innswood High ran out 4-1 victors over Tarrant High, Ardenne High were awarded a 3-0 cushion over Spanish Town High after the latter turned up late for the game, Wolmer’s and Edith Dalton High ended in a stalemate with neither team getting on the scorecard.
