Fresh from their big win over champion and leaders Harbour View four days ago, Waterhouse consolidated that effort with a gutsy 1-0 win over Portmore United at Drewsland on Thursday.

Chedlin Francoeur, the Haitian international striker who was on target for Waterhouse against Harbour View in his opening game, scored his second goal in as many matches after sneaking behind the Portmore defence for a left-foot tap-in against a badly positioned Gariece McPherson 16 minutes into the game.

The goal proved to be the only one in the match and it gave Waterhouse three valuable points that put them on 37 points, maintaining their steady climb towards the top of the points standings.

Harbour View, also on 37 points, lead on goal difference.

It was the fifth consecutive win for Anthony Patrick from six games since taking over the reigns as head coach at Waterhouse. On the other hand, it was another tale of woe for Portmore United, who went down to seventh place on the standings with 22 points after suffering their ninth defeat of the season with nine goals for and 19 against.
