Bacchanal Fridays begin tomorrow
BACCHANAL Fridays kicks off at the Mas Camp, at the National Stadium in St Andrew, tomorrow.
Michael Ammar, director of Bacchanal Jamaica, said patrons should come prepared for six weeks of non-stop excitement and fun at the upgraded venue.
“It’s a new and improved Mas Camp. We’ve paved over the venue, we’ve upgraded the VIP area, and we’ve installed a dance floor,” he said.
The director said Friday’s opener, which is sponsored by Smirnoff, should have a three-way meeting of local selectors DJ Smoke, Sanjay and Richie Ras.
“The new music is fantastic. It has a lot of variety, happy and uptempo,” he said.
As for the live entertainment in the progressive weeks, Ammar said ‘socaphiles’ should see an all-star cast of the genre’s finest.
“Were bringing the best of the best,” he said.
Destra Garcia, Bunji Garlin and Faye-Ann Lyons, Kes the Band, Patrice Roberts, Kerwin Dubois and backing band Roy Cape All Stars are part of the package.
Opening night will be followed by the popular Socacise Mondays and Wednesdays.
Bacchanal Fridays continues at the Mas Camp and concludes on April 11. The series is followed by Smirnoff Beach J’ouvert on
April 19, Bacchanal J’ouvert on April 25, and the Road Parade two days later.
