EXED Heats whipped Norman Gardens Dragons 104-49 as the 2013/2014 Southern Basketball Conference (SBC) Division One League continued at the Upper Room Community Church Court last Sunday.
The Heats also became the first team in SBC Division One League to have reached the 100-points mark. They were led by 18 points from Astley Marshall.
Meanwhile, Tommy McDonald’s game-high 27 points led Upper Room Community Church to a convincing 83-37 win over Duhaney Park, while Damion Johnson scored 25 points for Spanish Town Meadows to beat Portmore Blazers 80-60.

According to Calvin Martin, president the South Basketball Conference (SBC) Division One League, the competition is currently being run without a sponsor, and added to this it has started very late.
He said that this year the competition will start between October and November, as the teams are currently playing to qualify for the National Basketball League (NBL), which also will begin late.
Meanwhile, due to Sunday’s funeral service for the late David ‘Rice’ Harrison, former player of Spanish Town Spartans, and coach of Spanish Town Meadows, all matches scheduled will be postponed until a later date.
Harrison’s funeral service will be held at the Old Harbour Road Seventh-day Adventist Church.
However, three games have been pushed forward to this Saturday, to be played at the Majesty Gardens Court.
The matches are Braves Chiefs vs Swift Sons ‘B’ at 4:00 pm; Arnett Gardens vs Eastern Pistons at 5:30 pm; and Upper Room Community Church vs Majesty Gardens at 7:00 pm.
