Fire seek lead in Trelawny FA league
WAKEFIELD, Trelawny —Fire FC will be gunning for the lead in the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rums Division One when they take on Granville FC at Wakefield in a second-round game set to start at 3:30 pm today.
Fire FC are in second place on 11 points from six games, trailing Baca Star FC by one point, and a win today would see them take over the lead in the race for the mid-season final set for Sunday, March 30, at the Elliston Wakeland Centre.
The first game between Fire FC and Granville FC ended in a 1-1 draw, but while Fire FC are on the hunt for a place in the consolation final, Granville are in second to last place on six points from their six games.
Also today, Muschett High, on eight points from five games in third place, will take on last-placed Martha Brae in Wakefield as well.
The top two teams in Zone One, Upsetters FC and Sherwood United will be in action as they seek to take the lead in the race for top spot from that zone.
Upsetters, who lead with 13 points from six games, will face Daniel Town, while Sherwood, who are three points back and have played a game more, will face Jackson Town.
