RED CONQUEST for Mas Camp tonight
Patrons soaking up the vibes at Bacchanal Fridays held at Mas Camp.

RED CONQUEST for Mas Camp tonight

THE Mas Camp will once again come alive this evening as Bacchanal Fridays hosts its Red Conquest-themed night.

The event is a collaborative venture between the organisers of Bacchanal Jamaica and the Island Vibes entertainment group.

Patrons can anticipate a wildly entertaining performance by Vincentian and Worst Behaviour singer Skinny Fabulous, with music controls by DJ Richie RAS as well as Nuphoric from Trinidad.

The Island Vibes promoters, who now primarily execute soca fetes, are the very same masterminds behind the popular event, the Original Wata Party. While the event received much acclamation from critics and supporters, the subsequent saturation of the market with parties of the same nature prompted the team to redesign a strategy, that would lead them to focus on their passion for soca music, carnival and Caribbean culture.

In a recent interview, resident Bacchanal selector and promoter at Island Vibes, DJ Richie RAS, explained how the collaboration materialised.

“For some time now, we have been in dialogue with the Bacchanal team, sharing ideas, perspectives and experiences with the aim of helping each other. It was during one of these conversations that the offer to partner on a specific event was presented and we were more than happy to accept,” said Richie.

“The Island Vibes posse are true soca aficionados with a passion for promulgating the liberating and loving spirit of Caribbean carnival. Well aware of the group’s forward-thinking abilities and objectives to expand the Jamaican carnival franchise,

the organisers of Bacchanal Jamaica saw the partnership as a no-brainer decision,” said Charmaine Franklin, director at Bacchanal Jamaica.

Red Conquest will also feature a Red Special, which will allow masqueraders to purchase two costumes and get the third at a 50 per cent discount. Major sponsor Appleton will offer drink specials all night.

The Red Conquest edition of Bacchanal Fridays is sponsored by Digicel, Appleton, Pure Country, The Jamaica Observer, Smirnoff, Ammar’s, Caribbean Airlines, Fame 95FM, TVJ, RE TV, RJR 94FM, Pepsi, Securipro and Lucozade, with emergency services provided by Ambucare.
