Will Handler or Colbert replace Letterman?

Will Handler or Colbert replace Letterman?

People Post

Outspoken Chelsea Handler and Stephen Colbert are the front-runners to replace David Letterman on his Late Night.

Brash blonde Handler has become a household name, thanks to her E! late night show, but last Sunday she announced she was quitting the network when her deal expires at the end of the year. And the timing did not go unnoticed last Thursday, when David Letterman revealed he was retiring next year. Rumours were rife over the Internet as one tweet read: ‘David letterman is retiring, MY PRAYERS have been answered… They’re a a slot open for you @chelseahandler’ while another said: “WAIT. Chelsea Handler. Just. Quit. E!. You don’t think…”

Chelsea, 39, known for her bawdy humour, counts Hollywood A-listers Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow among her best pals — and has often had them on her show. If Chelsea were to take over, she would be the first woman to have her own network late-night show since Joan Rivers, who hosted The Late Show — then on Fox — for just one year between 1986 and 1987.

Meanwhile, Nikki Finke, who runs Deadline Hollywood, tweeted: “My sources say Stephen Colbert “the only one on the air currently that CBS is considering.”

Colbert currently has his own show on the Comedy Central network and is a TV favourite. Last September, The Colbert Report finally put an end to The Daily Show’s 10-year winning streak at the Emmys, claiming the title of outstanding variety series for the first time.

Lupita is the new face of Lancôme

Lupita Nyong’o is without a doubt Hollywood’s most feted star of the year — Kenya’s president even described her as “the pride of Africa” after her Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress in the movie 12 Years A Slave.

And it seems that beauty brands are keen to snap up a piece of the Lupita magic — the actress has just been unveiled as the new brand ambassadress of Lancôme.

The French beauty giant handpicked the 31-year-old and said in a statement last Friday: “Her instinctive and sophisticated talent and one-of- a-kind beauty, both delicate and strength-exuding, has taken the world by storm.”

Speaking about the Mexican-born, Kenyan actress, the brand said: “She is an outstanding example of a natural beauty; confident and simply true to herself, she embraces life with freshness, citing happiness as the most attractive form of radiance.”

Lupita, a graduate of the Yale School of Drama who starred in several productions in Kenya before landing her breakout role alongside Brad Pitt, said: “I am truly honoured to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history and that I have always loved.”

Game Of Strolls!

The season premiere of Game Of Thrones is tonight. But Peter Dinklage was holding down the fort in New York three days ago. The 44-year-old was all wrapped up as he went for a walk with his wife Erica Schmidt and two-year-old daughter Zelig near their Manhattan home on Thursday.

Peter battled the still-cool temperatures with a beanie underneath a hooded coat and dark pants. The talented star sported facial scruff and a pair of sunglasses as he pushed his daughter’s stroller through the streets.

His wife Erica stayed warm in a navy overcoat, dark pants and a pair of comfortable blue shoes. The theatre director held on to the family dog as they enjoyed the sunny crisp day. The couple’s adorable daughter was cute as can be in a pink coat and precious beanie as she was transported around like a true princess.

Peter returns as fan favourite Tyrion Lannister on the season four premiere of the HBO hit Game Of Thrones tonight.

Lupita Nyong’o has just been unveiled
as a Lancôme ambassadress joining the
likes of Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.
Peter Dinklage got all bundled up to take
his wife and daughter out for a stroll in
New York on Thursday. At right: Lannister’s unwilling bride Sansa Stark
(Sophie Turner) on the last season of
Game of Thrones.
