Bakery adds spice to KSAFA grassroots programme
CONTINENTAL Baking Company Limited, owners of National Bakery, will be partnering with the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) as an associate sponsor to host the Chubby/KSAFA Grassroots Football Programme for children, scheduled for April 12, in Duhaney Park.
Tiffany Wong, trainee manager of Continental Baking Company, said that coming on board was an easy decision for her company.
“Continental Baking Company, owners of the National brand, is proud to support this kids’ football programme, and we at National share the mantra that the more children play the more they learn.
“National is committed to enhancing the lives of our future leaders through learning and play. This is evidenced by our participation in other youth social programmes such as Crayons Count, Talk up Yout and the Jamaica Observer’s Junior Writers’ Club,” she said as she addressed a press briefing at the JFF offices on Tuesday.
Wong also said that her company has received strong support from consumers in general over the years and that this football event for children is a good way to give back to communities.
“This programme is about getting everyone together and our commitment to this kids’ football programme is to provide each child participating with our National snacks.
“At National, we take pride in our products and in delivering quality into our Jamaican communities in an effort to continue to build Brand Jamaica. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those of you who continue to support us by purchasing National products, as it is this support which allows us to be able to give back to programmes such as this,” she said.
