Westmoreland FA knockout kicks off today
LLANDILO, Westmoreland — The Westmoreland Football Association Roger Clarke Knockout is set to get under way today with a double header at LLandilo playing field with the first game set to start at 1:00 pm.
Race Course and Negril FC will meet in the opening game followed by Petersfield FC and Golden Touch, set to start at 3:00 pm.
Thirteen teams will take part, three from the Western Confederation Super League and 10 from the Captain’s Bakery and Grill Major League with the winner qualifying to represent Westmoreland in the all-island knockout next season.
The Western Confederation Super League teams, Savannah SC, Reno FC, and Sandals Whitehouse FC will enter the competition in the second round and will join the five first-round winners, including Chantilly Forever, who drew a bye after the withdrawal of Belmont FC.
On Monday, Major League mid-season champions Beaches Negril will take on Three Miles River at Llandilo with Russia FC and Mt Grace meeting at the same venue on Tuesday.
The draw for the second round will take place after Tuesday’s game.
