Salt Marsh, Kinloss make final push for title

FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Mid-season champions Salt Marsh United and regular season champions Kinloss FC played out a 0 – 0 stalemate in Sunday’s first leg final of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rum Major League at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Falmouth.

Salt Marsh held the edge in a closely contested game as they created more scoring chances, especially in the first half, but failed to break down a tough Kinloss team.

Meanwhile, Baca Star United took a 1-0 lead in the Division One first-leg final that preceded the Major League game.

Randy McDonald scored an opportunistic goal in the 76th minute, after he got behind the defence and shot past the goalkeeper at the near right post into the far corner. The return legs of both games will be played next Sunday, also at Elliston Wakeland.
