VCB clocks world-leading 10.86 over 100m
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former 100 metre World champion Veronica Campbell-Brown ran a world-leading 10.86 seconds over the distance to win at the Star Athletics International Sprint Series meeting in Clermont, Central Florida Saturday morning.
Campbell-Brown, who is on the comeback trail after a 10-month break while successfully battling a drug suspension, topped the IAAF World list that has three Jamaicans in the top positions.
She replaces Samantha Henry-Robinson who had run 11.00 seconds at the same track in April while former Herbert Morrison sprinter Remona Burchell slipped to third place with her personal best 11.03 seconds set in Jacksonville, Florida on May 30th.
Campbell-Brown ran 11.14 seconds in her previous 100m race in Beijing, China on May 26th.
