Wray & Nephew make winning start to defence of KO title
Defending champions Wray & Nephew Limited began the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB)/Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Knockout (KO) Championship on a winning note at the National Housing Trust (NHT) car park last Friday.
The Rum company easily dispatched National Baking Company 69-47 in the first round, while the league champions Seprod Limited defeated Nutrition Products 72-52 on a well-supported night.
Meanwhile, Kingston Wharves crushed First Heritage CCU 80-52; UWI Domino Club gave Gleaner Company a 80-70 whipping; National Commercial Bank (NCB) went down 54-73 to Ministry of Finance; Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) stopped Kirk Distributors Limited 76-54; JUTC edged Jamaica Observer 62-61.
In other results, Cari-Med defeated Campari 71-68; Carib Cement Company destroyed Flow 76-57; NHT defeated Pepsi-Cola Jamaica 68-63, and Courts Sports Club went down 63-70 to Berger Paints Jamaica Limited.
The league was due to resume yesterday with round five with a full slate of games in both divisions.
The Division One games are Carib Cement Company vs National Baking Company, Cari-Med vs Wray & Nephew Limited, Courts Sports Club vs Gleaner Company, Seprod Limited vs JUTC, Jamaica Brandy vs Kingston Wharves and UWI Domino Club vs Berger Paints Jamaica Limited in Division One action.
In the lower league, Nutrition Products Limited vs BOJ, Kirk Distributors vs Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, Ministry of Finance vs NHT, Flow vs Transport Authority, Jamaica Observer vs First Heritage CCU, and NCB vs Petrojam.
