Chile lead Australia 2-1 at half time
KINGSTON, Jamaica — After 15 minutes Chile was up 2-0 against the Australians in the second Group B match on Friday in the World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Alex Sanchez opened the score in the 12th minute before teammate Jorge Valdivia added another two minutes later, totally outplaying the Australians.
But the Chileans appeared to take their foot off the throttle and Australia hit back with Tim Cahill scoring a well taken header in the 35th minute before picking up a yellow card in the 44th.
The earlier Group B match saw The Netherlands demolishing defending champions Spain 5-1.
