Ms Skunk Nation title up for grabs
HOT cars and beautiful women were an integral part of last year’s successful inaugural staging of Skunk Nation’s Import Tuner Night held on the grounds of the National Stadium in Kingston. Therefore, in keeping with tradition, entries are open for this year’s edition dubbed Street Tuner Invasion scheduled for August 16.
“We decided to hold it again because of the overwhelming support we got from the crowd during the last pageant judging,” said Nick Lue, conceptuliser of Skunk Nation.
Lue said the contest added significantly to the entertainment value of last year’s ITN while also helping the entrants gain exposure and experience. Ms Skunk Nation 2014 is open to women between the ages of 18 to 28. Up for grabs, beyond the title, are cash prizes, gift certificates and a cell phone.
“We want new faces for this year, so previous participants are excluded from entering,” he added.
Skunk Nation will choose the 12 best female contestants. They will be subject to individual photo shoots to be placed on Facebook and Instagram as part of the voting process. The eventually winner will be based on points scored from both their social media popularity and from official judges at the event itself.
Remitting her Ms Skunk Nation title at this ITN this year is Sue Ann Gordon. Gordon took home $30,000 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. She has then spent the year as Skunk Nation’s ambassador.
