Sanchez for Long Island festival
REGGAE singer Sanchez is among several acts slated for the Long Island Caribbean-American Heritage Festival which will be held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Amphitheatre in Long Island, today.
Starting at noon, the event will also have an auto showcase, golf, soccer and a netball tournament.
“We have everything covered. The whole entertainment landscape will be covered. Trust me, there will be no room for boredom… there’s just too much to do,” said Nick Sinclair, the event’s executive producer.
Sanchez (given name Kevin Jackson) has been a staple on the lover’s rock scene since the 1980s. He got his break in 1988 with Loneliness, a cover version by Jermaine Jackson. He has since scored with other cover versions including Larry Graham’s One In a Million You, Skeeter Davis’ End Of The World, and So Amazing by Luther Vandross (done with deejay Flourgon) as well original including Never Dis The Man, I Can’t Wait.
Other acts scheduled to perform are Ed Robinson, Anthem Band, Terry Linen and Denise La Cruz.
