China seeks Jamaica’s help in coaching sprinters
KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) — Global sprint giant Jamaica is helping China in its effort to produce faster sprinters for international meets.
Six Chinese coaches have arrived in Kingston and another four will arrive in September on Jamaica government scholarships.
The Chinese sprint coaches will be full-time students at the GC Foster College for the month-long programme focusing on sprinting.
As part of their training, the coaches who include one female will attend the upcoming national senior trials.
They have all expressed a desire to meet sprint sensation Usain Bolt, remembering his record-breaking form at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
