Netherlands 2, Brazil 0 at half time in third place playoff
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Brazil’s woes in the 2014 World Cup continue conceding a goal after a mere three minutes in the third place play-off against The Netherlands Saturday.
The Netherlands added more salt to Brazil’s wounded pride fourteen minutes later when Daley Blind slammed a gift from a poor clearance into the roof of the net for the Europeans to go two up.
The Netherlands opened the scoring from the penalty spot by Robin Van Persie after a foul on Arjen Robben by Brazil captain Thiago Silva.
After the 7-1 drubbing by Germany Brazil have now conceded nine goals in two matches.
