Manchester hunt third win in Confed U-15
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — Surprise package Manchester will look to consolidate their place at the top of the South Central Confederation Juici Patties-sponsored Under-15 football competition when they play away to St Elizabeth today at St Elizabeth Technical.
The Sheldon Davis-coached unit is enjoying its best ever start in the regional tournament, having posted 2-1 wins over the traditional ‘big two’ — St Catherine and Clarendon — in their opening games.
They now have a chance to make it three-in-a-row, while edging closer to the title, as they go up against a St Bess team who are rooted at the base of the four-parish standing without a point from two games.
In the other Under-15 tie, St Catherine and Clarendon will look to stay close to the leaders when they meet at West Park in May Pen.
Game time is set for 3:00 pm, with the corresponding Under-13 fixtures scheduled to kick off at 1: 30 pm.
In the Under-13s, St Catherine could move within touching distance of the title should they beat second-placed Clarendon, who slipped two points behind the leaders following last week’s 1-1 stalemate with Manchester.
Manchester, who were earning their first point, after a 6-1 thrashing on opening day, are favoured to get by St Elizabeth, who, like their Under-15 counterparts, are yet to earn a point from two starts.
