Educator Melrose Cameron honoured for years of service
MONTEGO BAY, St James – MELROSE Cameron, teacher and education officer, was honoured by several of her past students, for her remarkable contribution to education.
A teacher for more than 35 years, Cameron has worked at a number of schools, including Adelphi All-Age, Somerton All-Age, Riverton Open Bible and DRB Grant Resource Centre — all in St James.
On Sunday, scores of past students and well-wishers turned out at the Foreigners Fun Park to pay tribute to Cameron who they say had helped to shape and mould many lives.
During the three-hour-long function, which included dinner, Cameron received a citation, plaque and gifts from several persons whom she had taught over the years.
The event was organised by Richard Vernon, Yolanda Vernon, Diana McNeil and teachers at the DRB Grant Resource Centre.
