Come September, Staple, 11, will be attending Munro College. He scored 100 per cent in mathematics, 97 per cent in language arts, 99 per cent in social studies, 98 per cent in science and 11/12 in communication tasks.
Hamilton and Robinson, both 12, were awarded places at Campion College. Hamilton scored 100 per cent in mathematics, 99 per cent in language arts, 96 per cent in social studies, 97 per cent in science and 12/12 in communication tasks, while Robinson scored 100 per cent in mathematics, 94 per cent in language arts, 99 per cent in social studies, 97 per cent in science and 12/12 in communication tasks.
Shellian Thompson, brand manager for Tang Jamaica, said this is the third consecutive year the subsidiary of Facey Commodity Company Limited chose to award top math students.
“This is our way of endorsing the subject and trying to get young persons to be interested. Apart from English language, we believe math will help to grow our country further,” she said.
“We congratulate the three awardees. At Tang, we are confident that the scholars will represent with class and distinction. We celebrate with our awardees and congratulate their parents who have taken their children to this stage.”
